Elizabeth

DOB 12/5/2009
This little one was born at about 32 weeks at 3.4lbs and is currently in a positive institutional environment after previously being in foster care. Her last update notes that she is doing well developmentally based on her adjusted age, and that she loves playing with other children and with toys. She was under incubator treatment for about 2 months after birth, and during hospitalization, she developed a mass on her cheek due to a congenital infection, for which she may need plastic surgery in the future. This little girl also has been noted to have gingival hyperplasia, partial syndactyly and polydactyly of her right foot, flexion of thumbs, a sacral dimple, and a small Atrial Septal Defect. A genetic consult noted potentials of progeria and telangiectasia. She is now living at a care center where she is able to receive regular on site therapy and has made great improvements. She is now able to walk and run. She is also improving in her speech development and is reportedly able to follow simple instructions and speak a few words. She is described as a bright and charming child who has good developed good relationships with both her caregivers and other children.
This special little girl is in need of a family who has access to the medical resources that she needs and is comfortable with a potential genetic syndrome. State of residence may be flexible, please contact Erin for more details.
