Health Condition: Cassandra was born prematurely at 25 weeks and 4 days of gestation. She was diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and received surgery for this condition on December 4, 2006. According to the birth family, the results of the OPD follow-up reflected normal results. Since her placement in the orphanage, there have been no abnormal findings. Cassandra was diagnosed with Moderate Mental Developmental Delay on March 22, 2010 and Speech Development Delay, which is suspected to have resulted from insufficient mouth chewing stimulation. She received therapy for these conditions from a developmental center from August 2010 to September 2010. Since her subsequent placement at an orphanage, she has continued to receive speech, occupational, and physical therapies. Her development is progressing and she has been attending kindergarten since January 2011.
