ZOEY for the Evans family — WA

Adam and Lauren Evans met in November of 2004 in West Branch, MI while Adam was home on medical leave.  Adam’s mom worked with Lauren and she couldn’t wait to introduce the two.   They hit it off and started dating immediately.   They continued dating even when Adam had to return to California, where he was serving in the United States Marine Corps.  In May of 2005, they married in Las Vegas, and shortly thereafter, moved to Hawaii.  It was in that beautiful state that they decided to grow their family.  Kyle was born in Oct. 2007 while Adam was serving in Iraq.  A little over a month after Adam returned home, they found out they were pregnant with their second boy, Brandon, who was born in Nov. 2008.  In July 2010, their youngest boy, Seth, was born, and they thought their family was complete.  Oh how little they knew.  Not long after Seth was born, Lauren stumbled across a blog that was advocating for a little boy named Sam.  He was listed on RR and was at risk of being transferred.  The faces of those RR children never left Lauren’s heart but she thought she would never be strong enough to parent a child with special needs.  After talking with Adam about it, much praying, and letting Jesus lead their lives, they finally made the decision to adopt and rescue a sweet girl instead of just watching from the sidelines.
