FINN for the Solomon family — US Military, Germany
Chris and Maria have been happily married for almost 10 years now. They were blessed with two sweet daughters whom they cherish very much. They are a military family stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany, where Chris proudly serves as an Air Traffic Controller with the United States Air Force. Chris and Maria felt God leading them to adopt long before they ever had their first child. However, they had no idea what God’s timing would be. In 2008, God started guiding Maria’s heart towards adopting a child with Down syndrome, but Chris did not have this same passion at that time. Maria chose to tuck those feelings away and simply trust God with the desires of her heart. She prayed and patiently waited upon the Lord to either change the desire of her heart or change Chris’s heart to feel the same passion that she did. In 2011, a couple from their church adopted a child with DS from Ukraine and those feelings came flooding back to Maria. Little did she know that God had been working in Chris’s heart as well, and he was open to the idea of adopting a child with special needs! Chris and Maria started researching DS and praying for God to lead them to their future child. They found themselves looking at the sweet boys on Reece’s Rainbow and knew that God wanted them to give one of these precious angels a forever home. After continuous prayers by Maria, Chris, and many family and friends they knew that God was in this decision 100%. They are living by Romans 8:28 and James 1:27 and are very excited to see how God will work to bring home their little boy to his forever home where he will be loved beyond measure!
