ANNA for the Ajamian family — NY
Roger and Kristen have been married for almost 6 years and have a 4 and a half year old biological daughter, Eden. As long as Kristen can remember, she always had a desire to adopt. In fact, when Roger was about to propose to Kristen, she said “I want you to know that God has called me to adopt one day, so if you marry me, you have to be on board with this.” Roger had not even considered adoption, but was open to the idea and during the first few years of their marriage, they talked about it, prayed about it and researched various programs and countries. They knew they were going to adopt, but wanted God’s direction for them. It seemed that one country in particular was the best fit for them, however, Roger encouraged Kristen to look into Eastern European programs again, so for about the 4th time Kristen reached out to an adoption agency serving this area and spoke to them about their healthy children. Even though they started out with the idea to adopt a child that was “healthy” through prayer and research they became open to children with special needs, particularly Down Syndrome. They have excitedly chosen a special little girl whom they call Anna. They have visited Anna once in the orphanage and are excited to return in 5 months to finally bring her home.
