Zaidlyn #1-9

 DOB: February 2007
Diagnosis: lagging behind in development, coloboma of both eyes

Zaidlyn is lagging behind in all areas of her development. Her vision issues are said to not effect her interactions in her environment. She is walking, feeding herself and drinking from a cup. She understands everything being said to her, responds to her name and follows basic directions. She turns to look when adults are talking. She interacts with toys, particularly those that are cause-effect type toys. She understands how to manipulate toys (turn them on/off, etc) and will seek out help if she can not get a toy to work. Her play skills were said to be at the level of a one year old when she was 3 years old. She makes sounds and some word approximations but does not yet have meaningful speech. She seeks out the attention of adults and wants to interact with them. She prefers to play alone and just watch other children, though she will compete for the attention of an adult.
