Abel

Boy, born July 2008

 

Abel is very tiny for his age and weighs 17.5lbs and is 30 inches tall. He came to us very malnourished and seems to be taking a really long time to catch up in weight and developmental milestones. We do not have access to the right medical care to figure out what is causing his failure to grow and his delayed development.  Abel can now crawl and because of a wonderful gift from a visiting medical group, Abel was gifted with AFO’s. They were able to assess his low muscle tone and said that he should wear the AFO’s for 6 hours as day to help his weak ankles. He showed immediate improvement and was able to stand unassisted for a few moments (while holding on for balance). He even took a few short steps!
