DAISEY for the Kenyon family — OH

Mike and Gail both grew up with the desire to serve Christ. When they married in 2003 they committed themselves to serving God as a couple and to seek His will for their lives.  After they were married they both had a strong desire to start a family.  After a year of infertility treatments, however, they felt called to adopt domestically and in 2006 God blessed them with a precious baby boy.  Three years later as they were pursuing adoption again, God blessed them with a “surprise” pregnancy, and Gail gave birth to another precious boy in February, 2010.  Mike is an elementary school teacher and Gail taught special education before she became a stay-at-home mom.  God has given both of them a deep love for children, and Gail has always been passionate about the needs of children with disabilities.  In January, 2011 while following blogs, Gail learned of the desperate needs of orphans around the world.  In her research, she discovered Reece’s Rainbow and after sharing the information with Mike, they stopped looking anywhere else.  Their hearts were immediately burdened for orphans with disabilities in Eastern Europe, specifically those at risk of being sent to adult institutions at a young age.  In an effort to discern God’s will for them and their young family, they immediately asked their family members and close friends to pray diligently for direction.  Within the next few weeks, the Lord provided clear affirmation that they should initiate the adoption process, even prompting Mike with the name of a specific child they had learned about on the Reece’s Rainbow website…Daisey.

Throughout their lives, God has continually shown His faithfulness to both Gail and Mike. They are confident that He will continue to be faithful to provide as they wait to bring this precious little girl home.
