Miss Patti is a beautiful 7 1/2 year old girl with CP.  She also has strong facial features of fetal alcohol syndrome.  (FAS).  She is described as a sweet girl, affectionate, friendly, and would like a family of her own.

From an adoptive family who visited with her in January 2012:  We met “Patti” today. She’s absolutely adorable! She’s friendly and appears quite intelligent. She’s also very mobile. She has a wheelchair but it looks more like it’s just for convenience. She sat on a regular chair for lunch and when she was done, stood up and walked a couple of steps and got into her wheelchair, neatly backed herself out and rolled down the hallway to her groupa room. I believe she has only CP from what I can tell, and it appears to be very mild. I watched her feed herself- there’s no evidence of any impairment except in her legs and even that is mild. The orphanage does therapy- we had an opportunity to met with the therapist today and discuss/compare methods and will be continuing to communicate after our adoption is complete as well (we exchanged emails with several staff at their request).

Patti does have many of the facial features of FAS, but, I do not see the neurotypical indicators as much. She is very well behaved, courteous to the other children and staff, and follow instructions well. She seems very calm and serene. She seems to have a quiet, obedient spirit with a little spark of charm that is just waiting for a mom and dad to bring it to a full flame. I smiled at her today and said “hi” and she smiled so sweetly and ducked her head like she was embarrassed to have so much attention. This sweetheart would be a wonderful daughter- I hope her family finds her soon
