Lin is a single mother of nine, 6 are grown and on their own, the oldest, Sara, has Down syndrome and lives at home as do as her brothers, Cody and Logan, who also have Down syndrome. The boys are two of Andrea’s originals and were adopted from Ukraine in 2008. Raising the boys has been a challenge and a joy for Lin and she can’t imagine her life without them. For years Lin has kept an eye on Reece’s Rainbow kids, helping out when she could. Dawn was a particular favorite and she had been praying she would find a home. When she heard from a friend that Dawn would age out in a matter of days, Lin decided she wasn’t able to let that happen. She managed to submit her needed paperwork to USCIS and they accepted it the day before Dawn’s 16th birthday, the day she would no longer be eligible for adoption. The family is excited to see Dawn come home and Sara can’t wait to have a sister at home to even things out. As a single, older (older with a capital O!) mother this will be a financial stretch, but Lin knows she will see a way and would greatly appreciate any support and encouragement.
